History
Linton Elementary School opened fall 1989 and was named after Wayne and Shirley Linton; two dedicated Fort Collins educators. Our building was remodeled in 2013.
Learning culture
Linton is a caring, welcoming and dynamic place! The Linton community is dedicated to the social, emotional, physical, and academic growth of children. Linton’s character education program and Positive Behavior Support system assists students in following the PRIDE Code: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellence. Linton encourages school pride and positive behaviors, and attitudes. We have monthly PRIDE assemblies to come together as a school and celebrate our students.
Academic environment
Our curriculum is aligned with Colorado and PSD content standards. With a focus on literacy and math, our staff differentiates to ensure that all students are successful in a rigorous setting. Teachers integrate interactive technology into instruction on a daily basis. Our school also values educating the "whole child" and provides specials and extension, Gifted and Talented instruction, and a highly trained reading intervention team.
Instructional & enrichment programs
Linton follows the Colorado Academic Standards and utilizes PSD’s adopted curriculum. In addition, Linton teachers have 40+ hours of literacy training through Orton Gillingham. Linton honors that every child has different interests. Enrichment activities include Battle of the Books, Math Olympiad, Art Clubs, student council, Linton Pride Choir, grade level music performances, Early Bird Reader, Mileage Club, G.A.S.P through CSU ELC, BStrong, Bfit, student leadership, and tutoring opportunities, and sports and rec club.

Opportunities for parents
Linton has an active PTO and School Accountability Committee that play an integral role in our school community. Parents support Linton’s mission through PTO, School Accountability Committee, and many hours of volunteering. Our family events include a Family Dance in February, Breakfast and Book Fair Bonanza, Family Nights, and Movie Nights outside.
