Art Clubs

Painting and Mixed Media Club

In Painting and Mixed Media Club, 1st and 2nd grade club members meet with Ms. Mattice from 3:43-5PM on Thursdays after school. Our club meetings are focused on experiencing as many different art mediums to determine which methods best suit each artists’ unique visions. The teacher guides club members through demonstrations on how to use each material, but students have the freedom to make whatever they want with them.

 

Sculpture Club

In Sculpture Club, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade club members meet with Ms. Mattice from 3:43-5PM on Tuesday afternoons. These club meetings are focused on using found objects (like recyclables) and ceramic clay to make 3D artworks. Through making these sculptures, students learn about weight, balance and support, as well as unique art techniques, like paper mache. The teacher guides club members through demonstrations on how to use each material, but students have the freedom to make whatever they want with them.
