March 4, 2024 PTO Meeting

Principal Report

  • District Listening Sessions regarding changes for upcoming years
    • Parents are encouraged to come and hear about proposed changes, and provide community input.
    • Upcoming night in our neighborhood: Wednesday, March 20 at FCHS 6-8pm
  • Staffing plan was approved by the district for 2024-2025.
    • We will have 1 less literacy interventionist, 1 less ESL teacher due to our school projecting less students for next year. One teacher is retiring at the end of the year.
  • Teachers and staff will begin the class placement process next month.
    • There will be a parent input form for parents to offer any suggestions regarding learning styles or specific learning needs.
  • Staff is preparing for many upcoming events:
    • Field trips
    • Field Day (date TBD)
    • Track - 5th Grade
    • BOB (3rd,4th,5th)
    • Family Night - April 30
      • Day of the child celebration!!!

Treasure Report

  • Family Dance and food reimbursements paid since last meeting
  • Received the 2024-2025 proposed budget for review
    • Will vote on budget at April Meeting

Parent Chair

  • Fundraiser
    • Kicked off March 1. Runs through March 29.
    • Various volunteer positions discussed and tasks provided
    • Move fundraiser to the fall next year (Maybe run Oct 1-31)
  • Book Fair
    • New parent volunteer running Spring Fling / Book Fair (Lauren)
    • Date of book fair pending approval from Scholastic is 4/11 from 7:45am-8:45am
    • Will provide burritos, snacks, GF option. Looking into coffee art options
  • Upcoming Events:
    • Family Restaurant Night: D.C. Oakes April 15. Come and enjoy dinner and a percentage of all purchases will go directly back to Linton!
    • Teacher Appreciation Week (May)
      • PTO will provide a small treat to staff each day of the week during teacher appreciation week. Details to come.
